Some good valid points VH. Thumbs Up I've always looked at it as, well, I'll use your analogy. Girls next door can be seen, well, next door, at the mall, in the que at Pak n Save. Models on the other hand can not. Having these "models" put into one easy to find, read and buy magazine makes it easier for the "average Joe" to ogle at.

I agree, most car guys would like high dollar cars and/or more of them if possible but without goals, what can we aim for? Some of these cars are built on a relatively low budget, it can be done. Smile In saying that, I like girls next door and models, only difference is, I'm not trying to sell magazines. Wink

Couldn't have put it better myself!

................Maybe if they are something super rare, we can do them, but obviously the article will be around the history of that model etc. ......................................
Feature cars don't need to be super shiny, don't need to have big budgets behind them, nor big rims. They do however need to have one area they're very strong in (i.e a monster motor in an ok body would be fine), or be good in all areas, the more removed from the norm, the better.
..........................

Exactly right Todd.  Wink

Ask yourself how many shiny red Mustangs or Camaros are driving around.  Everyone knows at least one. The Magazines are competing with each other and therefore the way to sell the product is to have an edge with unique, unusual or just plain interesting cars as a regular part of the content.
My Little Red Wagon was different enough to make the cut, but it was built on a real tight and small budget.  It also helps to ask the Magazine Editor straight up, not just sit back and wait for the door bell to ring.  Cool

By the way...the girl next door to me would look great in a magazine....  Naughty

Bang Head  Bang Head  Bang Head and here's me with a shed full of "sixes" and another on the way, and even the V8 project I've got lined up after that is probably more likely to make Classic Car mag than NZV8  Crying Or maybe not as I don't think there is that many on the road in NZ  Don't Know

I think I speak for everyone when I say "Pics, or you're lying" haha

Anyone want to se my collection of submitted Mustang photos? Some owners would struggle to pic their own cars out of it... (disclaimer- I'm by no means anti Mustangs, there's some great ones out there, but also plenty that are all the same)

I love seeing old survivor cars, rustic weathereds paint jobs or nice original shiny paint. People have a huge appreciation for them and they generate alot of interest, especially at car shows. I do appreciate cars with a nice paint job, (mine will have new paint soon) but they have become so 'ho-hum'. Lets see something a little different. I would love to see a section on them in the Mag, but reckon they need to be something a bit special too...like being a Mopar....am I biased?????????  Cheeky

Hey VH , Why don't you do something different like , "Making a porno with some hitchikers and a mopar in it"  that would sell well.  Naughty Cheeky

Paul, don't give him any ideas!!!  LMAO!

Dunk - That still sounds like it's easily Classic Car territory. NZV8 is more the custom side of the hobby than all out correctness and rare factory oddities. Smile They do stuff like that quite often from what I have seen, rare 1 of 1 cars or survivors, definitely up their alley.

LOL  Done that already, but it's difficult to get a release signed by a dead girl, so I don't publish them... Of course there's the whole issue of how she ended up dead too, so that could also cause some problems if I let people see the videos.

On the up side, I finally got the car back from the panel shop on Saturday, so there's a whole new set of hitchhikers just waiting to have a ride in the boot.

Here's one I took it out on Saturday when I took it out for a spin. Not exactly flash enough (or fast enough) to go in NZV8, but good enough that I changed my wallpaper pic to this one.  Cheeky

I plan to put up a resto thread at some stage, but I want to have it in chronological order, so it will have to wait until I scan some of the old photos.

Lookin forward to seeing that that thread.
Dont be shy with the pics - we all love hardtops and there aint that much info and pics out there compared to other Mopars.
There used to be a good hardtop register in Aus, but it seams to have disappeared. (i used to frequent it regularily to get my fix!)
